WELCOME to the B-A Class of ‘62

Class Motto: Better Always Higher Still

Graduating Class

May 31, 1962, Ninety-six classmates from the Class of ’62 graduated. Our vision of the future was shaped by plans for the following year. With thoughts of higher education, the armed forces and impending engagements, who could think any further ahead? The freedoms on the other side of the school walls consumed our days and filled our dreams.
When we started our new journey after graduation we were called "the graduates of the Class of ’62". We have all suffered from disappointments, illnesses, and loss of loved ones. We have also shared the joys of friendships, job promotions, raising families, and enjoying grandchildren.
We all remember how September 11, 2001, changed many of our lives. Our sense of security had been shattered, but as Americans we pulled together and stood tall and supported our great nation and moved forward.
Now we have acquired a new title, “Senior Citizens.” As age steals away the years, we are faced with making the decision to retire or continue to work. Regardless what we choose, the Bellwood-Antis Class of ’62, are survivors.
As we continue our journey through the “Golden Years,” we will enjoy each new day as it was our last. We will cherish every moment spent with family and friends and enjoy the journey as long as it last.

CLASSMATES CELEBRATE FATHER'S DAY EARLY

Celebrating Father's Day with Classmates:
June 14, Classmates joined together at our usual monthly meeting place (Hoss's).
We enjoyed dinner and celebrated the birthdays of Kay Hornberger Pfahler and Jack Oswald with song and Hoss's complimentary individual birthday cakes.
We were glad to see Merle Barger join us after being in the hospital for two weeks and diagnosed with cancer. he will be having Chemo and Radiation treatment at John Murtha Hospital in Johnstown. Walt Carothers' wife Judy joined us and was doing well after having hip replacement surgery.

Jenny shared several jokes with the group about father's using several classmates names that brought on the laughter. Then we played Father's Trivia Questions with information that was new to some of us.

Father's Day started back in 1910, and the custom of giving a necktie as a gift on Father's Day began. Since then, the modern man defines neckties as (bright colored complicated oxygen restricting knot.) Today men refuse to wear ties and some do not remember or know how to tie a tie. That is what brought this fun idea to my mind. We had women tie the tie on the man without instructions from him for help. A demonstration was given twice before the contest started. Pictures were taken and we had a lot of fun, there were only a few that pasted the test. Prizes were given out to the winners. Kathy Madara did a wonderful job on John Cook's tie but forgot to put his collar down. Jane McGinnis did a beautiful job with Jerry's tie. Ann Barger tied John Helsley's tie and did a great job. Some of the ties the top piece was tie shorter than the under piece. If you need your tie tied don't ask Kathie Cross, she didn't do well with Harold Miler's tie. It was a lot of fun and was the highlight of the evening.

Jenny planned another Bus Trip for the class for Wednesday, September 29, 2010. The bus will take us to Hawley, PA. We will board a train for a Fall Foliage Train Ride, Dinner at Ehrhardt's Waterfront Resort, and a Live Comedy Show. There are still a few seats on the bus.
We will not be meeting for dinner at Hoss's in July because of the Mini Class Reunion at the Bellwood Fire Hall on Saturday, July 31, 2010. The Reunion Committee has planned an eventful evening. Group photo will be taken at 6:00!
